Karl has lived in the RFV since 2022, working as a Librarian for the Roaring Fork School District and Peer Support for A Way Out. She is active in the recovery community and is currently pursuing a Dual Degree Masters in CMHC and School Counseling. Karl came on as TMP's first Executive Director January of 2024.
Gigi Durand has served on The Meeting Place Board for several years, as board member, treasurer, and chair.
Originally from Los Angeles, Gigi moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1991, finally settling in Carbondale in 2016, where she raised two children. She is currently the Comptroller at Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company in Basalt.
Kim is a psychotherapist specializing in trauma and substance use disorders, working both in private practice and with a local non-profit. Her extensive clinical experience and background in non-profit management make her an ideal fit for the Vice Chair role at The Meeting Place. Kim enjoys outdoor activities and has been a board member since 2022.
Kortney brings over 15 years of financial experience to ACF, having previously served as Chief of Business Operations at Jaywalker Lodge, a rehabilitation facility. With a BA from Colorado Mesa University, she is passionate about using her financial expertise to benefit her community. She lives in Carbondale with her husband and their lab, Hobbes.

Madison Burke is a Case Management Specialist dedicated to helping women overcome mental health challenges, trauma, and addiction.
She is certified in trauma-informed care and addiction counseling. As Director of Admissions at a women’s residential treatment center, she specializes in trauma and co-occurring disorders, excelling in case management and advocacy while supporting family systems.

Gabriela Alvarez Espinoza is an elementary school teacher fluent in Spanish, English, and French. She holds a Master’s in Theater and Education and is pursuing a second in Multicultural and Inclusive Education. Gabriela joined the board of The Meeting Place in December 2024, bringing her passion for creating inclusive, supportive spaces.

Parker was raised on a farm in Hood River, OR, where his family grew a variety of fruits. He has an extensive background in sports and outdoor recreation, eventually competing as a decathlete on the track and field team for the University of Washington, where he received his master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He moved to the valley in 2023 and is now a teacher and the head track coach at GSHS, as well as a personal trainer at the Carbondale Recreation Center.
